Book Review: To Be an Airline Pilot

'To Be an Airline Pilot' has recently been published
by Andrew Cook and Crowood Press. It is available for
purchase at the Jetscreen Pilot Shop.
Andrew's new book is an interesting read, and charts his journey from discovering he has the bug for flying, to actually joining his current airline as a First Officer flying A319/20/21s. En-route the book guides you through the difficult topics of where to train, how to select a flying school, and what to expect when you start the course.
A large section of the book is devoted to explaining the concepts and topics studied during ATPL Groundschool, and is therefore perfect for potential pilots who want to read up on these topics before sponsorship interview, or indeed before they start their course. Also, Andrew helpfully provides a broad selection of JAR-style examination questions for the reader's perusal.
If you aspire to become an airline pilot, "To Be an Airline Pilot" is an excellent place to start, and is certainly the most up to date book on the market.

Well despite checking our site on a monthly basis, several of our links have expired within the last 30 days or so. So our apologies if you found broken links on the site in January. Mr Fix-It has been through the site thoroughly, and all links should now work. If you find any problems then please just drop us a line and let us know.
We are also delighted to be able to say that January has been our best ever month for site traffic, so THANKS for dropping by. In fact, from December to January alone we grew by 60% in terms of visits to the site, and have had visitors from 25 countries around the world.
Our Airline Vital Data section is coming on, and will be published we hope in February. Don't forget however, that this site aims to help YOU on your path to becoming a pilot, so keep dropping us those e-mails and we'll continue to help out as much as we can.
